BTR Jet

Designing a new fixed-base operation (FBO) at the Baton Rouge Airport came with several unique challenges, and our team took BTR jet from demotion to completion.

A new hangar was needed that made sense for aircraft storage and maintenance and allowed for good traffic flow. We demolished three smaller inefficient hangars and replaced them with a single 22,000 structure. We utilized cross ventilation strategies with passive ventilation louvers to create constant airflow and optimize efficiency.

We also designed a new FBO structure, honoring the history of aeronautics with carefully planned interior details and a striking exterior design. The grand lobby and reception area features floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the airstrip, offering the best view at the airport. It also includes ample seating options and a bar.

The design also called for specialized areas for pilots – including a flight planning space, a weather room, and a nap room so airline staff could catch up on sleep between cross-country flights. And for the staff on the ground, we built out a full office space with a conference room.

BTR Jet now stands as one of the premier private jet hubs in the south, with striking memorable features and amenities that keep their clients coming back time and time again.
