Plans for a new mixed-use development on Richmond’s Chamberlayne Avenue have been scaled up, with DNA Workshop’s latest design calling for an eight-story building featuring 150 apartments and 5,500 square feet of commercial space. The project now includes two ground-floor retail storefronts and a second-floor coworking space—amenities aimed at increasing walkability and activating the corridor.
Designed by DNA Workshop’s Richmond office, the building reflects a broader push toward higher-density, mixed-use development in Richmond’s Northside. The updated proposal is currently under review by the city, with the team continuing to refine plans in response to neighborhood context and community needs.
