Located within walking distance of downtown Shreveport, Bayou Grande was developed as part of the HUD Choice Neighborhood program. The multi-phase plan includes two 68-unit structures, a 122-unit structure, and a 70-unit building for seniors.
DNA Workshop was tasked with designing a truly upscale development that would transform the vacant lots surrounding an old film studio into a vibrant neighborhood. Each of the 1, 2, and 3 bedroom units features the same modern design, with high-end finishes such as granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, regardless of its status of affordable or market-rate.
The community also boasts a spacious club house, fitness center, internet cafe, dog park, and playground. It’s also conveniently located to local parks and some of the city’s largest employers.
While some phases are still under construction, what is currently complete has “completely changed the face of affordable housing in Shreveport,” says Housing Authority director Bobby Collins.
